Squally nights

Right now I’m sitting inside on the saloon table because it started raining. Just before nightfall the horizont got covered with big puffy clouds and we were awaiting the first squall to hit. Everything was stowed inside, the washup done – the whole ship neat and tidy. We put a reef in the passat sails just to be sure – when the wind started to increase. But until now it stays on 5-6 Beaufort and we’re making good progress towards our destination. During the day we had blue sky, a wonderful blue ocean and stable tradewind. We’re listening to music the whole day, are reading a lot of books and the kids roam the ship and invent new games. Wolfgang again made wonderful bread and I made ‘Kaiserschmarrn’ for dinner (Bruno’s favourite !). Just after sunset we had a wonderful picada/Jause with jamon iberico, cheese, fresh bread and one of our last cans of beer. Next time we definately have to bring more refreshments of that kind.

Now that I’ve finished writing, the stars are already shining again, I open the windows and let the fresh air of the night inside while I grab another book and position myself in the cockpit.

Wind: ENE 5-6, Sea: 4, sweel from ENE, Course 265 degrees, speed: 6.4 knots. Miles to go: 706 Position: 15 04.83N and 047 29.69W

    Ahoi Freunde!
Ihr macht es gut! Weiter so!
