Four years have passed since the last post. OMG! At this point, I’m asking myself: should I bring you up to speed – give you an update on what’s been happening with us over the past few years ?
I suppose it’s best to start where we are now: Our older children are now 20 and 18 and are moving out to study in Bremen and Groningen, respectively. This gives us, the remaining four a unique opportunity to set out again with our “small” kids (7 and 4) and experience a different kind of life.
And so it came to pass that we sold our last boat – or more precisely, the 50% that belonged to us – and, after a very brief viewing on the hard last April, purchased our dream boat, an Ovni 43, in France.
In the fall of 2025, with the help of some brave friends, we sailed our “Le Manchot” from Brittany to Lisbon, with Hurricane Gabrielle hot on our heels. Since then, our boat has been in Lisbon and preparations for the journey are underway.
We’re right in the thick of it right now: clearing out the apartment, reorganizing my company, travel vaccinations, boat gear, goodbyes, moving boxes… our final party in Berlin is on August 22. More info to come by then… Stay tuned…
